Bichon Frise
Said to riginate from some on the shores of the Mediterranean, some experts claim that the Bichon Frise's origins lie in long before biblical times. while many others name the 1400s as the dog's century of origin. From the Spanish Court to the Italian Princes, from Francois I to Hency III, the Bichon Frise found favour at court and amongst nobility.
This breed needs an environment to match his inexhaustible supplies of energy. As an owner of a Bichon Frise you should have a personailty to match the lively and dynamic character of you pet. Despite it's exuberance, they do have a sulky, obstinate side to them which comes from their sharp intelligence.
One thing that all thick coated animals share, is the need for careful grooming. The Bichon Frise is no exception. He needs brushing on a daily basis for about 5 minutes with a hard brush. The brush should have rounded metal bristles to stop the coat from knotting.
If you Bichon Frise ever gets wet from a long walk you must dry and warm him up as soon as possible as he may get a chill or develop intestinal issues. They often experience weepy eyes, to treat this simply dry them with a cotton bud with lotion from your vet.
