Miniature Schnauzer
The Miniature Schnauzer has oval eyes under bushy eyebrows, v-shaped ears that drop forward and a bristly moustache with chin wiskers. The dogs come in 3 colours, salt and pepper, black and silver and black. Black seems to be the dominant colour so a pure black dog will only have black puppies even if the mate is a different colour. Older dogs tend to go a bit whiter as the years pass.
The Schnauzer descends from a German dog, the Pinscher. The Schnauzer has a rough coat whereas the Pinschers' coat is smooth. Schnauzers have been used for ratting, driving cattle and even cart pulling.
Be sure to strip the Miniature Schnausers coat two to three times per year. You can do this yourself or take him to a grooming studio. Try to rub him over with a grooming glove daily and comb his moustache and leg funishings. The wiry fur does not shed, a bonus for busy owners and people allergic to dog hair!
