Owner Training & Support
How do we train you?
It depends. We get a whole range of owners from police dog handlers, gun dog enthusiasts, search and rescue team members to complete novices with their first puppy. We apply exactly the same approach to the owners as we do to their dogs – each has different dog training needs and requirements.
The first stage is for us to demonstrate exactly what your dog has been taught during the residential course. Many people are amazed at what can be achieved in such a short time.
The second stage is to teach you how to achieve the same response from your dog. We do this on a one to one basis - along with your dog of course. Now is the time to ask questions and address any concerns. No question is too simple or foolish.
The third stage is to provide you with a home guide to follow and on going e-mail and telephone support when you return home. If you have any further questions or problems just e-mail or telephone us and we’ll advise best we can.
The home guide takes you step by step through the stages you should follow. It’s quite simple to understand and doesn’t take long each day. The aim of this is for you to progress in a steady controlled manner, to establish a new relationship with your dog, and to develop your handling skills.
